Welcome to Dochas Carers Centre

  • Do you look after a relative, partner or friend who needs support because of age, physical or learning disability or illness including mental ill health?
  • Who is a Carer? A carer is a family member, partner, relative or friend supporting someone who needs help to manage a long-term condition, disability, physical or mental health problem or addiction.

Dochas Carers Centre is an independent charity. We help and support unpaid carers by providing information and guidance which can make life better. There are many carers who live many miles from services and access can prove difficult or impossible. We have dedicated Support Workers who provide support to carers throughout Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands.

You can call in person, phone us, request a home visit or make an appointment to speak with one of our staff during the opening hours of the centre.

Donate to Us

Caring for a loved one can be both deeply rewarding and incredibly demanding, whether supporting a parent, partner, child, friend or neighbour living with a physical or mental health condition, disability, or substance misuse challenges. The pressures on unpaid carers are often significant, and ongoing support is essential.

At the Dochas Carers Centre, we are committed to providing vital support and resources for unpaid carers across our community. However, like many charities, we continue to face funding pressures and any shortfall impacts that we can deliver.

Your donation helps us bridge this gap, directly supporting unpaid carers with essential services, short breaks and wellbeing support. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference.

Please consider donating today and helping us ensure that unpaid carers receive the support they need and truly deserve.
