Volunteers play an important role in helping Dòchas Carers Centre support unpaid carers across Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands. Whether you can spare a few hours occasionally or volunteer on a more regular basis, your time and skills can make a real difference.
Our volunteers support a range of groups, activities and events, helping to create welcoming spaces where carers can relax, connect with others and access support.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to your local community while meeting new people and learning new skills. We offer:

"Sharing my crafting skills and helping others to try something new." - Morag McDonald, Activity Group Leader

Alternate Wednesdays I look after the young parent carers. The challenges these mums face and their approach is humbling. Their lively chat is heartening. It’s certainly opened my eyes. Thursday
is a drop in group with lively chat, never knowing what subject is going to be discussed, with everyone offering a resolve!
Both groups are lovely and so welcoming. It’s also nice to see people out of group, who are always keen to stop for a chat. - Liz Long, Centre Support Volunteer
