TAKE 5 CHALLENGE
ACUMEN Mental Health Development Worker Sarah McFadzean would like to invite unpaid carers who would be interested in taking parts in 'Take 5 Challenge' over the month of March either for their own benefit or to fundraise for a group, a charity or club. 'Take 5 Challenge' is about setting a daily challenge that suits the individual's abilities, the goal being to spend some extra time outdoors from your normal routine and to add some additional movement into your day whether it is 5 minutes of walking, 5 deep breath of fresh air, or a 5k walk or run each day. The aim is to boost our sense of wellbeing and to support each other to do so. Any queries or more information, contact sarah.mcfadzean@acumennetwork.org.
Dochas Carers' Centre is an independent charity. We help and support unpaid carers by providing information and guidance which can make life better. There are many carers who live many miles from services and access can prove difficult or impossible. We have dedicated Outreach Workers who provide support to carers throughout Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Isles.
You can call in person, phone us, request a home visit or make an appointment to speak with one of our staff during the opening hours of the centre.
Young carers are children under the age of 18 (or 18 and still at school) with caring responsibilities. Mid Argyll Youth Development Services offer support to young people throughout Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay. The services include training, youth clubs, drop-ins, cyber cafe, community cinema, trips and much more. For more information contact 01546 603 231. www.mayds.org.uk.
